With reference to your letter of the 18th July Adres 1906, No. 24581/1905, relative to the acquisition by the
Admiralty of certain land at Hong Kong near Mount Parish,
Wanchal; I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of the
Admiralty to acquaint you, for the information of the
Secretary of State for the Colonies, that in view of the
objection to the addition to Clause 5 of the Memorandum of
Transfer of the words proposed by My Lords, they are
prepared to agree to these words being omitted.
2.
The compromise with regard to this Clause
suggested by H. E. the Governor is therefore accepted by
Their Lordships.
3. I am to add that the course proposed in
paragraph 3 of your letter has been noted, and the
to the Admiralty local Officers necessary instructions will be given in order that an
amended Memorandum in substitution of that dated 19th
December 1904, may be obtained.
I am,
sir,
Under Secretary of State,
Colonial Office.
Your obedient Servant
